The Riverside Youth Chess Association (RYCA) presents the 2019 Vista Del Lago Chess Tournament on Saturday, October 12, at 8:00 a.m.
Where : Vista Del Lago High, Multi-purpose room.
Address : 15150 Lasselle St, Moreno Valley, CA 92551
When : Saturday, October 12 , 2019 from 9:00 – 2:30 (registration begins at 8 AM)
Who : K-12 students who know the fundamentals of the game.
Rules : Touch-move tournament style play in all grade levels. Students in grades 6th - 12th will play with a time control of Game 20 min..
Divisions : There will up to ten divisions with some grade levels combined.
Awards : 1st, 2nd, 3rd place trophies for individual divisions.
Registration : Advanced registration by Wednesday, October 10th: Free

McAuliffe Lollapalooza Chess Tournament
Where: McAuliffe Elementary School, multi-purpose room, 4100 Golden Avenue, Riverside, CA 92505
When: Saturday, February 22nd, from 9:00 – 2:30 (registration begins at 8 AM)
Who: K-12 students who know the fundamentals of the game and can play “touch move” tournament style chess in a Round Robin format.
Divisions: There will up to ten divisions with some grade levels combined (if there are not a enough entries at a certain grade level). 1st, 2nd, 3rd place trophies will be awarded for the highest scoring players in each division.
Clocks will be used for grades 6-12 with a time control of 20 minutes for each player (G/20 or Game in 20).
Registration: Advanced registration (by end of Thursday, February 20th) cost is free. Email the below information or a scanned copy to [email protected]
Late registration or at the door: $10.00. Please make checks payable to RYCA.
Snacks and lunch will be available for purchase at the tournament and there are several stores and restaurants in the vicinity.

MVEA Scholastic Chess Tournament: January 25, 2020
Where: MVEA Conference Room 12125 Day Street, Ste. M409, Moreno Valley, CA 92557
When: Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM Registration between 8:00 AM and 8:45 AM; Tournament is from 9:00 AM to 2:30
Who: K through 12th grade students who know the fundamentals of the game and can play “Touch Move” tournament style chess in Round Robin format. Clocks will be used for grades 6-12 with a time control of 20 minutes for each player (Game/20 or G/20).

Where: La Sierra High School (MPR), 4145 La Sierra Ave., Riverside (MPR is located next to FRONT parking lot.) ½ mile north of the 91 Freeway.
Who: K through 12th grade who know the fundamentals of the game.
Divisions: Up to 8 divisions with some grade levels combined. Round Robin format with cross-over playoffs for large divisions Clocks will be used for grades 6-12 with a time control of 20 minutes for each player (Game/20 or G/20).
Awards: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies will be awarded in each division.

Where: Rim of the World High School, 27400 CA-18, Lake Arrowhead, CA 92352
In the school cafeteria, entrance is on the north side of CA-18
Who: K through 12th grade players who know the fundamentals of the game
Divisions: + 9 divisions with some grade levels combined in a Round Robin format.
Note: Swiss System pairings may be used in the HS sections in the
event of a large enrollment. Clocks will be used for grades 6-12 with a
time control of 20 minutes for each player (Game/20 or G/20).
Awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd place trophies will be awarded in each division
Registration: The tournament is FREE to those who register by Thursday, November 14th or $10 registration at the door. ALL arrivals after 9:00 will have to pay a $10 late fee. Please be on site by 8:30 to check-in/register and no later than 9:00 am!
